I have always understood the problematic nature of the beauty industry. It is inherently racist, sexist, ableist, and makes anyone who doesn’t fit into the box of skinny, white, cishet woman feel like they aren’t allowed, or that they have to change everything about themselves to be included. These are thoughts I’ve wrestled with since entering the industry 8 years ago. But what I’ve come to realize is that there’s something magical about being against the oppressive force that you’re an agent of. We’re taught to hate ourselves, and it’s that BS messaging that brings people to my room, but once you get there, I get to tell you how perfect you already are. You’d be amazed at what just hearing those words can do to bring a person closer to self love and acceptance.
In all honesty, I don’t know what it’s like to be the “other”. I fit neatly into the box of standards required to be accepted by society. But I have spent countless hours trying to look outside of my own narrow worldview, and I recognize that there are giant swaths of the population who don’t feel like beauty services are for them. My hope is to give everyone out there, regardless of size, gender (assigned at birth or otherwise), ability, skin color, sexual orientation, etc., a place where they can get the same treatments as everyone else, and where they will be treated with dignity and respect.

While this is still a results oriented facial, there is greater emphasis on relaxation here than other treatments. Extractions will be included if needed, but this facial is not meant for the treatment of Acne.
